If you’re ever in Kemang, whether because of South Jakarta traffic, a business meeting, or if you just need a place to wind down, try visiting Casa. As suggested by its name, this cozy lounge has a very unique homey design. Their vintage-minimalist furniture and the all-glass-wall allows you to enjoy the surroundings in a fully-air-conditioned room.
This lounge was opened 7 years ago, and was the start of a series of successful lounge/resto, namely Cork&Screw, Canteen, Louie, and more. And after 7 successful years, this place is still a happening place to visit. The other thing that impresses us other then the design is the waiter & waitresses. Unlike your typical places to eat, their waiter & waitresses are not only nice, but also very friendly. If the bartender seems to be the person to talk to at a bar, at this place, the server can easily be that bartender. Whether to ask about the menu, or even share how bad the traffic was, they’ll let you know to “not to worry about looking odd for coming alone, you’ll have a friend here”
Our favorite menu would be the Aglio Olio Pasta, or as they put it, the AOP. It can have chicken or beef bacon toppings, and feel free to ask for extra dried chilli if its not hot enough for you. The AOP goes well with their lychee ice tea, which is served with a skewer of three lychees.
Their thin-crust pizza is a wonderful choice to accompany your choice of cocktails or their Erdinger draught beer. If you still need some finger food, they also served some great bitterballen.
For a romantic mood, ask for a Moscato D’asti, a sweet sparkling wine that will just set the mood right. But if sparkling wine is not your thing, just ask for a recommendation from their wine list.
The place opens daily from 11am all the way till 1am and Casa is usually full during weekends, so you might want to book ahead. And don’t forget to bring your friends to enjoy their super comfy sofa.
