MCJ : Thank you Pak Ong for your time. You are an old MCJ friend. How long have you been in Indonesia and how did it all started?

Jackson : I came to Jakarta in 1979 as a business representative from a Taiwan Trading House. I resigned to start my own business in computer hardware after 5 years. I used to import goods using USD but sold them using Rupiah and when the financial crisis hit Indonesia in 1977, I suffered huge loses. After struggling for a long time, I decided to close shop in 2005 and moved on to do other thing. Since then I have been involved in all kinds of businesses like property, healthcare and network marketing.

MCJ : What are you doing now? Would you elaborate on it?

Jackson : I have started a new network marketing business recently in IT Communication from the US, Talk Fusion. This is the first IT communication company in MLM. I think this is a very good opportunity in this country with a population of 250 million. Those who are interested may take a look at the website www.talkfusion.com/1158681. We are also going to explore the Malaysian market very soon. Please contact me if you have friends or relatives in Malaysia who want to look for new opportunity to get an instant income but not money games and stock, but in application software only. My mobile phone no is 0816803498.

MCJ : Can you share with us your experiences living in Jakarta and why you choose to settle here?

Jackson : I have been living in Jakarta for more than 30 years and after my marriage to my wife who is also from Jakarta, I have gotten used to living here. I enjoy living here as I have friends here and we play golf during the economic crisis in 1997-2003. The only thing that we do not feel good is the traffic congestion in Jakarta. We have to be patient to live in this city with a population of 12 million. I think this a very big market for business and a lot of opportunity here and that\’s why I choose to live here.

MCJ : What would be your advice to newcomers to Indonesia? Meaning, what are the do’s and don’t so that they will not get into trouble?

Jackson : Newcomers to Indonesia must be very excited to live here and to make friends. I would suggest to them to learn more Bahasa Indonesia which will be more
convenient to communicate with local friends. We should keep a low profile in this country and try to make more friends. It is good for your business opportunity in the future if you want to live here longer. So enjoy your life here for newcomers.

MCJ : Thank you for sharing. Tell us just 1 fond memory you have about MCJ, when and on what occasion?

Jackson : I used to be a Exco member few years ago and I enjoyed meeting all MCJ members and their family here. The most impressive event organized by MCJ was the Bollywood Nite.

MCJ : One final question. Having known MCJ for so long, what is your opinion about the current MCJ re-branding exercise compare to the past? Do you agree or disagree with the current Exco on the direction MCJ is going and why?

Jackson : I fully support the current MCJ re-branding exercise since this is good for all of us. Anyway just do it. Thank you.

Thank you Pak Jackson.
