Finding Paradise in Bandung

Bandung has always been known for its fashion outlets & culinary spots. On this occasion, we were intrigued by this new, highly recommended restaurant.

It was formerly known as Telaga Sari Hotel & Restaurant, the place has been fully renovated into a very modern fine-dining Chinese restaurant which will soon be equipped with ballrooms for functions. It is called the Jing Paradise.

At the entrance, we were welcomed by a very friendly receptionist. This two-storey restaurant has a modern Chinese theme with enchanting chandeliers, but still has antique Chinese porcelains, tables, cabinets and wooden screens to maintain the authentic feel. In the middle of the restaurant is a uniquely design stage complete with an antique guzheng/Chinese zither. On the left side. you can see their elegant wine cellar. The restaurant is equipped with carpet layered stairs and elevators. We were escorted to our seat which was a very comfortable couch.

They have a wide range of dishes to choose from, such as double boiled chicken soup, the infamous shark fin soup, “Gong Poh” style chicken to deep fried gurame fish with special sauce, and lots more. I personally think the crisp-fried prawn tossed with salted egg yolk is heavenly.

The manager, Ms. Yoyo Tee from Malaysia, mention that currently Jing Paradise aims to be the hippest fine dining place in Bandung. Their future ballrooms are expected to be the top choice for function in Bandung. And in order to get more people to dine at Jing Paradise, they have applied a no-pork no-lard policy.

We highly recommend these dishes: Jing Paradise Combination platter, stewed edamane tofu with ginger in duck reduction sauce, and my favorite crisp-fried prawn tossed with salted egg yolk, and don’t miss their fruit cocktails for dessert.
